| When we reported back to the Steiner Officer who contracted us, he was surprised to see us back with the mission succesfull. Now he told us, that 4 Mercenary units before us had failed. He was also happy to pay us 200.000 C-Notes for Kapitan Daridov. Loki was very interested in him... hod3 decided to keep the Hunchback, the other 'Mechs were sold - which gave us 8.8 million C-Notes. The money we earned was immediately put to good use to provide more infrastructure for our unit. We hired a very experienced Tech, Berthold Weber. Together with our S1, Weber then chose another 8 Techs. Having our own 'Techs made us independent of Techs our contractor might supply us with. Together with the S4 Weber then procured tools, scaffolds, consumption items and all other basic items needed for BattleMech maintenance and repair. As soon as the Techs set up everything and commenced with their work, Weber immediately proved his worth: he managed to repair the damaged LB 10X autoannon. With still an enourmous sum of money left, we took a look at the 'Mech market. I was able to fulfill my dream, there was a WHM-6R Warhammer available. Happily I sold my Vindicator and took the Warhammer back to our HQ. I grabbed a couple Techs and modified the Warhammer to a WHM-HOD Warhammer: The small lasers and the machine guns were exchanged for more armor plates. hod2 found a CPLT-C1 Catapult which we bought for him. His heavily damaged Enforcer 'Mech was repaired and kept as a reserve 'Mech. hod3 sold his 'new' Hunchback and bought a FLS-7K Flashman. He also modified it to a FLS-HOD by removing 1 M-Laser, 1 Flamer, 2 Heatsinks and 0.5t of armor and installing 4 jump jets. Log Entry by Hptm Theobald von Stein, hod1 |
